Metamorphosis with a Preschooler: Part Four

This is the fourth and final post for my Metamorphosis with a Preschooler Series.  Grayson had a great experience watching his butterflies grow and change.  He was so excited when the first butterfly emerged and checked our butterfly garden continuously throughout the next couple of days until they were all butterflies.
He helped give the butterflies sugar water daily with Daddy and even caught them drinking it a couple times.  I told him that the butterflies would soon be ready to be set free to find their own nectar in flowers outside.  Once the fluttering was loud and constant it was time to set them free!
Two butterflies flew away as soon as the garden was opened, but we were able to watch the other butterflies slowly make their way out of the garden.
We had a fun game night playing Cootie together!  I first let Grayson create a couple caterpillars, and then we set the game up and played.  This game is great for teaching fine motor skills, following directions, taking turns, making choices and subitizing.  Even Kynlee joined in on the fun!

Don't forget to enter my Under the Sea Giveaway if you haven't yet!  The giveaway ends Saturday, May 3rd!
