We LOVE to go camping and had another great trip this past weekend. We have gone tent camping a lot, but are definitely spoiled by having a travel trailer now. It is so easy having a potty for Grayson and a comfortable place for them both to nap. Even with the conveniences of a travel trailer there is still a lot of planning that goes into camping with little ones. It is so easy to get overwhelmed by what toys to bring when going camping. So, I wanted to share just a few ways we make playing while camping more enjoyable and easier for the whole family!
Foam Mats
My mom introduced me to these mats a long time ago and I use them at home (in our living room and backyard) and they work perfectly when we go camping. We sprayed bug spray around the perimeter of the mats and had the kiddos play there. There were a lot of ticks on this camping trip, so it helped to keep them from sitting on the ground while still being able to play in the dirt.
Sand Toys
Grayson loves to play in the dirt like most kids do. We always take a bag of toys for him to play with. We grab a few toys from his sandbox and his 'mighty machines' for our camping trips.
Sports Equipment
Footballs, baseballs, soccer balls, and so much more! We don't bring all of the sports equipment for every camping trip because, frankly, we don't have enough room. However, we do grab a few to throw around on our campsite.

Bicycles/Tricycles/Strollers
We love to go for walk (or rides) when we are camping. Bring what best meets the needs of your family and kids.
Water Toys
As the weather gets hotter camping can definitely get uncomfortable. Squirt guns, wading pools, or soaker balls are a great way to stay cool as the day gets hotter and a lot of fun to play together.
